Let's knock this virus out
Across the North East and North Cumbria our teams are working tirelessly to vaccinate people against Covid-19.
The Covid-19 vaccine is safe and effective and gives you the best protection against the coronavirus.
All the latest information about the vaccine – who is eligible and how safe it is, can be found here.
Even if you have had the vaccine, please remember to follow the latest rules which can be found here - these include wearing a face mask and social distancing.
If you have not had your vaccine yet it is never too late to get yours. You can book an appointment via the national booking service here or check you local authority website to find out where other local services are available.
Remember one in three people who have the virus have no symptoms so you could be spreading it without knowing it.
#DoYourBit - get vaccinated when you’re invited and follow the rules.
Protect yourself and others from COVID-19
Anyone with COVID-19 symptoms can get a free test. If you have symptoms, get a test as soon as possible. You need to get the test done in the first 5 days of having symptoms.
You can have a test (swab test) to check if you have COVID-19 now. You can choose to take the test:
at a test site near you today and get your result tomorrow
with a home test kit
Go to gov.uk website for more information on how to get tested. If no tests are available online, do not call helplines to get a test. Please check back on www.gov.uk. Only call 119 to get a test if you have problems using the internet.
Only get a test if you have coronavirus symptoms. If you don’t have symptoms, and have not specifically been advised to take a test, do not come forward for a test. Doing so takes a test away from someone who really needs it.
This service is for people in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
