Follow the rules when using NHS services

When using or visiting NHS services, it is vitally important that we  follow some basic rules to keep yourself, staff and other patients safe  and to make best the best possible use of resources for everyone.

When using NHS services it is important that you follow some basic rules to keep yourself, staff and other patients safe.

Please do your bit by:

  • Wearing a mask if you are visiting any healthcare settings including hospitals, clinics, GP surgeries, pharmacists and dentists, and when using patient transport.

  • Keep your hands clean by using handwashing facilities and the alcohol gel provided in healthcare settings.

  • Check the rules about visiting a loved one in hospital or accompanying them to an appointment. Most GP surgeries and hospitals have this information on their websites. Some healthcare settings, such as hospitals or a nursing home, may ask you take a lateral flow test before attending.

  • Be kind to our staff who are doing their best to look after you. Abuse – physical or verbal – will not be tolerated.
